BAE Systems Wins U.S. Army Contract for Vehicle Protection System
BAE Systems has been awarded an contract to equip ground vehicles with advanced electronic warfare capabilities for the U.S. Army.
The defense, aerospace and security company on Wednesday said that it has been awarded the Soft Kill Active Protection System program of record by the U.S. Army.
The Army will use BAE's Rapid Optical Observation and Kill system, also known as ROOK. Unlike "hard kill" systems that fire munitions to intercept incoming missiles, "soft kill" systems block incoming missiles and drones by scrambling their guidance.
The contract will also fund continued work on BAE's Stormcrow and Terra Raven countermeasure systems and includes the delivery of prototype equipment for installation and testing on Army vehicles.

In February 2026, BAE Systems Bofors signed a purchase agreement to acquire Aston Harald Mekaniska Verkstad AB - a Swedish supplier of precision mechanics and advanced component machining for products within the defence and aerospace sectors, as well as the commercial market. The acquisition has now been completed.
BAE Systems' new ARCHER Mobile Howitzer has the flexibility needed to meet a wide range of mission requirements for militaries around the world.
Aston Harald is headquartered in Kristinehamn, Varmland, and employs approximately 100 people. Aston Harald has been a strategic supplier to BAE Systems Bofors for many years, as well as to other leading defence companies and commercial actors. The acquisition of Aston Harald aligns with BAE Systems Bofors' strategy to strengthen its production capacity and delivery capability in the European defence market, as well as to enhance supply security in connection with the deliveries of the defence systems ARCHER, TRIDON Mk2, Combat Vehicle 9040 and naval guns 40 Mk4 and 57 Mk3.
Both BAE Systems Bofors and Aston Harald are based in the defence industrial cluster located in the Karlskoga region, sharing a common history and a clear focus on delivering world-class defence capabilities. The acquisition enables better and more efficient collaboration - with the right conditions to secure deliveries to Sweden and partner nations.

(MT Newswires) -- Fitch Ratings on Wednesday affirmed BAE Systems' (BA.L) A- long-term issuer default rating with a stable outlook.
The ratings action incorporates the expectation that the company's key profitability metrics and free cash flow, backed by strong order backlog and a solid business profile, will stay in line with the rating agency's expectations for an A- rating.
BAE Systems' rating and outlook also mirror its leading position in the global defense sector.

Share price recent decrease
obviously the markets reacting to the iran war that “could” be ending especially this stock. but its been a good start to the year with countries investing more into BAE. Last earnings were strong for a reason. order backlog etc. if your a short term then good luck and if your a long term ill see you at the top. Good stock you can kind of see the resistance at £19 ill be topping more up!
