- 🇺🇸 - US stocks gained on Tuesday as investors brushed aside worries about new trade measures against Canada, even as Canada announced new retaliatory tariffs on US goods. - Nvidia stock rose 2% ahead of its highly anticipated quarterly results due out tomorrow, snapping a seven day losing streak.

- Investors rotated out of tech names as semiconductor stocks came under pressure. Sandisk ($SNDK), Micron ($MU), and other memory chip stocks dropped following a report over the weekend that Nvidia ($NVDA) plans to raise prices for some of its AI servers.

- The best performing 10% of S&P 500 stocks this year are the index's weakest group to start the new week, falling about 1.6% on average by midday Monday.

Since every time at market open, people cheer when they see green or get desperate when they see red, some info and why the saying ""Let the market settle."  is important:

At market open, the first candle reflects an influx of market orders, overnight news, and automated algorithms resolving previous orders that have been collected. This creates high volatility which is reflected to filling gaps. In case of certain markets, e.g. Korean, this includes *all* orders made 30 mins before market opens (hence, why you see Korean stocks jumping up or down the moment they open).

Also, unfortunately, institutions will use this time to push and trigger Stop-Loss Orders and close options. They do this both for other institutions and for retails. This is what we call a liquidity sweep. When this happens, the liquidity is filled and the price frequently reverses sharply in the opposite direction like today.

The second  15-mins candle is much more representative of the direction of the day. Usually, a second red candle means a drop for sure. A green second candle, like now, could still be a bull trap so the third candle will confirm our direction.

….It’s very tempting to sell a few stocks and swing the cash into here before the results later.  It feels like NVIDIa has massively grown as a company, biggest supplier yet the share price has hardly moved!! Unless I’m missing something I feel these are like one of those old skool kids pullback cars and it’s about to rocket!!  If any company should be motoring in this current and future AI world it’s Nvidia no?!

It’s not pretty. Vivasor liquidated their shares and got a 50m shade refill from SCLX. 

This takes SCLXs share count down to around 67,766,229m shares, in the filings you have to remove the “stolen” shares from the count as they never filed to say those were sold… tho they wrote them off as an economic loss. Ji at it again…🤦🏻‍♂️🤡

Chances are we see a sell the news event while Vivasor liquidates what’s left of their shares. Or, this is SCLX positioning for another bankruptcy play where they spin off Vivasor. It’s impossible to tell currently.

It’s worth remembering in all of this that during the Q2 call Nate mentioned that they’d swapped their Vivasor shares for PHOE shares, on a basis of $1 Vivasor for $3 PHOE. 

However at the end of the day it is just business, it’s no diff from me or you selling. There was no lockup on the shares. 

I’d expect more downside in the near term. Once this continuous supply issue blow over I’m expecting we start to hold some gains though. 
The dilution seems to be slowing, and Brett specifically called out 1bn shares as Q2s cap that’s just 45m more shares from here.
