Rate Cuts

I've seen people talking about fed reserve rate hikes in comments recently. I personally think a rate cut is more likely, probably in September. The reason for this is as follows- US employment data has been underwhelming recently, capex spending by the large tech companies looks to be slowing down/ potentially coming to an end soon as the ROI on AI so far does not look worth the buildout cost. That spending is what has been fueling US economy so if it dries up, and the AI bubble bursts, a US recession is likely. Fed cutting interest rates would help all this but simply be bad for inflation. However the official metric they use to measure inflation is core PCE (which conveniently excludes food and energy). It's currently at 3.4%. Warsh has stated his preferred metric is trimmed mean PCE, which is currently showing inflation at 2.4%. This is obviously very close to their 2% target. Finally, Trump has made it clear he wants rates cut as he knows this will stimulate economic growth and by good for the stock market. He likely does not care about inflation. He got rid of Powell and appointed Warsh and I believe will have made it clear lower inflation is what he wants. I think Warsh is pretending to be hawkish, so he doesn't get accused of being Trump's yes man, but ultimately he is there to do Trump's bidding and him saying trimmed core PCE is the best way to measure inflation is an example of how he'll manipulate the data to justify rate cuts. Again, I think the fed will cut rates in September and if they do, it will be extremely bullish for gold and silver. NFA.

This has been a tricky time for silver but do we think that the selling has been exhausted? Will it really drop below $55 again? If fed looks to cut rates this will send silver flying up but depends on oil prices. What are we thinking where is the bottom that is the question…

In my opinion, oil is testing precious metals and I think they’re holding well here. I think this war will start to calm down, it won’t finish soon unfortunately, but it’ll normalise. I will hold my positions at mid 50s, I think a big bounce will happen sooner rather than later.👍 And I always say I could be very wrong. Good luck everyone 👍

On a serious note

People call me a permeant bear or talk a lot of rubbish for some reason. I have made posts or commented my reasoning, yet it always goes ignored. The sentiment hasn’t changed. We are still affected by the war and it continues to escalate. As we should know by know, the higher oil goes, the higher inflation goes and therefore interest rates. Why do people think it’s suddenly going to go bullish with this going on, it’s not. Stay safe, the war is just getting started.

I can see my isa clearly and track its progress since opening. I can look at investing virtually before I commit to using real money to make sure it's for me. I can also create a sipp all in one place. I get daily, weekly and monthly notices regarding interest. The app is easy to use and understand.
