The strategic bottleneck

The Strategic Bottleneck ​China's move targets the true bottleneck of the industry. Mining rare earth ore is relatively straightforward, but refining, separating, and magnetizing that ore into usable components is highly complex. Historically, U.S. mines had to ship their raw ore to China for processing. ​How the U.S. Plans to Break Free ​To permanently overcome this vulnerability, the U.S. is executing a multi-pronged strategy: ​Accelerating Midstream Processing: The U.S. government has taken the unprecedented step of purchasing a direct $400 million stake in MP Materials to guarantee its financial stability. MP Materials is scheduled to commission its own heavy rare earth separation facility in California mid-2026, which will allow the U.S. to refine its own ore entirely on domestic soil. ​The "Friend-Shoring" Alliance Network: Realizing it cannot build an isolated supply chain overnight, Washington signed a sweeping critical minerals and rare earths pact with India (May 2026), alongside ongoing joint ventures with Japan, Australia, and Canada. These agreements pool international refining capacity and create an allied trading bloc resistant to Chinese export bans. ​Aggressive Domestic Policy Enforcement: Using the Defense Production Act (via Executive Orders passed in 2025), the U.S. has streamlined environmental permitting to fast-track new domestic mining projects. Simultaneously, the U.S. Development Finance Corporation (DFC) saw its funding capacity supercharged to $205 billion, allowing the government to act as a direct equity partner in building new magnet and robotics production facilities at home. ​While these retaliatory restrictions will create near-term friction and supply disruptions for defense contractors, they effectively lock the U.S. into a forced march toward supply chain independence...... 🤔

App is very convenient even for the unexperienced investor or beginner. Usability is very well thought out and intuitive. I used a couple of other apps and no-one is even close to Trading 212
